The Department of Philosophy focuses on different schools of Hindu Philosophy and religion. It focuses on key subjects such as Advaita Vedanta, Yoga, Vaishnavism, Shaivism, and other schools of Indian Philosophy. One of the main objectives of the Department is to develop greater understanding among practitioners and common people about the different philosophies of Hinduism. It also aims at the study and reinterpretation of Hindu Philosophical Texts.

It will focus on key subjects such as Spiritual Psychotherapy, Pancakosha Therapy, Rehabilitation and Hindu Counselling. One of the main objectives of the Department is to develop greater understanding among community workers and professionals about the efficacy of the Integrated approaches found in Hindu literature. It also aims at the reinterpretation of Hindu Philosophical texts in the context of therapy and rehabilitation.

Principles of Hinduism (Sanatana Dharma) On-Site (Singapore)
Hinduism is a broad term used to identify the family of different traditions born of the Vedic and Tantrik sources. This course examines the fundamental principles of Hinduism tracing its origins and evolution through scriptures. Key concepts of Hinduism such as Dharma, Karma, God, Creation & Goals of Life will be introduced. This course is focused to strengthen the understanding of Hinduism from the perspective of source works.

This course will introduce the basis tenses, numbers, prefixes and suffixes in Sanskrit to help construct and understand simple sentences. Romanized scripts will be used for this whole course. Translation of simple sentences from English to Sanskrit will be taught.

This course will provide a detailed study of the Bhagavad Gita which has 18 chapters and 700 verses. We will examine the principle ideas and religious principles found in the text. The Bhagavad Gita is commonly said to be the essence of the Upanishads. We will examine the points of convergence and divergence between the Upanishad literature and the Bhagavad Gita. The philosophy of the Bhagavad Gita will also be studied through the eyes of the traditional commentators.
